29. No single way to do it

I was reminded whilst watching a Betting People episode with Simon Nott and Nick Goff that everyone does things differently. Nick was talking about losing runs and how he was happy to wait a week until recording all his bets. That was how he dealt with it.

I couldn’t be more different. If I have a bad day/run I always want to get everything noted down as soon as possible. Once done I can then forget it and move onto the next market/day. I find it almost therapuetic to do it that way. Everyone is different.

The original Racing Post article, that was the idea behind these threads, contained lots of mixed messages for aspiring punters. Some were saying every bet should be recorded. Others say you don’t need to. Sone say never chase. Some say its ok.

So much contradictory information is out there. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what process you use as long as it works for you. Just be very clear as to why you are doing something or not. Weigh up the pros and cons.

Always ask yourself why some very successful punters do what they do, the way that they do. Every situation is unique. Just remember that every decision you make can impact your end results.
