It is so important to understand the risks involved with any particular bookmaker. When I first started out it was in the early days of internet bookmakers and it was certainly an eye opener when firms went bust. It was the Wild West. It happened so often.
One of the early ones I remember and was affected by was Luvbet. Account balances weren’t honoured and just like that the money was gone. Then Netbetsports. Plenty followed after that and it is a really important consideration. Do your own diligence.
Just because a company is listed on Oddschecker does not mean that they are necessarily a ‘safe’ option. The only companies I have felt comfortable having a substantial balance with are Betfair, Bet365 and Sporting Index.
I keep seeing talk about black markets and what’s app betting sites. You have to factor into any prices you take that the company wont pay you if you win, it goes bust with a balance, disregards rules etc etc. The regulators are useless.
I realise people are having to look elsewhere as other options dry up but just be so careful. Its hard enough winning without losing money to unscrupulous operators. If it seems too good to be true it probably is.
