One thing I always come back to in this game is that it has a remarkable ability to humble you. You think you have the game by the boll**** and then it will completely humble you as you will go on one of the worst runs you have ever experienced.
In many cases there is a direct correlation with variance. When running well you can do no wrong. When running badly everything is an almighty struggle. This game likes to try and keep you grounded though. It will test you hugely. It doesn’t matter how good you are at punting you will inevitably be humbled at some stage. You could just say variance can be very humbling.
It is always a pretty unique game in that you can only control so much. You can do all the work you want and place all the value bets you hope for. However, once those bets are placed everything else is out of your control. The sporting gods will decide the outcome.
As always just try to make sure that you handle the swings (good and bad) with as much level headedness as possible. Don’t get too excited or get too low. Be prepared to be humbled.
